Your library, run by us for you
South Petherton Community Library came into being in March 2019. It is run by a team of volunteers, led by an employee of Somerset County Council Library service. We are open four days a week, with late opening until 4.00pm on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays.

We not only provide books, magazines, newspapers, computers, talking books and research material, we also have a Lego club for youngsters on Saturdays. We are home to the Local Information Centre.

The library is generously supported by our corporate sponsor, SES, and South Petherton's Parish Council. The Council funds us with £25,000 a year from local residents' council tax. Of course, we welcome members from outside our parish and you can support us by becoming a Friend of South Petherton Library

Another way to support us is to become a volunteer - information is available here. The hours are flexible to fit in with your life and commitments.

Friends of South Petherton Library is a registered charity in the UK and exists to promote and keep the library going for everyone's enjoyment. We are always happy to see you and help you find the fiction, research material and resources you want.
